I remember my Mom having balls of that string. I think she used hers for tatting. xo Diana

yes, my Grandma also used this for tatting. Wish that I'd had her teach me! I've tried but my knots knot rather than slide! Happy Labor Day weekend to you.

Hi Abby,

It looks so nice in the bowl.

I look for the vintage thread to crochet with. I have 7 skeins of Lilly brand size 20 thread that I came across for a song. I get all excited over crochet thread. {giggles}

Have a wonderful weekend,
Stephanie Suzanne ♥

Isn't it amazing what memories are evoked by a simple picture of crochet thread! I have visions of my Grandma crocheting beautiful and delicate pieces for her dressing table where lovely little china dishes with roses on them would sit alongside matching candleholders. Thanks for that Abby!

Abby, you've created such a lovely vignette with your threads... I run across those once in a while and don't buy them because I don't know how I'd display them; thanks for the inspiration! :)

Love your photos. How creative to use old vintage thread in a rustic bowl. The lighting is perfect.

What great thread, Abby. Those labels are terrific, and they look perfect on your old bowl - full of texture.
Love your paper doll ladies in the previous post, too. Such detail in their attire! And what a posh shoebox townhouse.
I'm always inspired here...

What a beautiful picture!!! Love crochet threads!! I found 12 balls in an antique store for $2.00 for all!!! Couldn't pass it up, especially with the pastel colors included! But I also have about 4 shades of off white and I may just have to "borrow" your lovely idea!!! You are such an inspiration!!!

Teri

Oh, those are so pretty! I saw a bag of tiny little pastel colored thread balls at the antique store today and I wanted it sooo bad, but they wanted twenty dollars for them!
